This is going to be a busy year for Freeway now we are telling the world about what we do.
I met Andrew Eddie at the Open Source Developers Conference in Brisbane in late November and subsequently we have talked about us building a set of Joomla! extensions so people can sell from Freeway inside Joomla!. The Joomla! people seem quite friendly. Better than some of the caustic eCommerce crowd. His recommendation is to make a complete Freeway transaction possible inside Joomla! and thinks it would be really popular. Well we have built Freeway so this is pretty easy for us to accomplish.
We are going to start out simple by displaying products, services, events or subscriptions inside Joomla! then move to a closer integration. We think the Joomla work can be all completed in the next two months and the Drupal and typo3 work a month afterwards.
My posts in the Joomla! forum have been quite well received. There seems to be a thirst for a serious eCommerce solution.
I think it is a great idea and a good way to bring eCommerce to life inside not only Joomla! but Drupal and typo3 as well.
We really are committed to a very clean integration with the three. We have done a lot of work with typo3 previously. Joomla and Drupal are a lot easier to use so we should be able to get these tasks done relatively quickly.
